Hey all – Michael Casey sent me this article about the grand opening of GCPL Snellville Branch last fall. Take a look at the photos! Note the staff member with the rolling cart. There is no service desk! We chat with Michael on Sunday.

That’s really cool and I love how cute the children’s section is — how they made a point of buying colorful iMacs and getting a rainbow of colors!
@laurele Same! I also love how much signage they have in each section. Ingenious idea to include markers for genres instead of guests having to guess where in the Dewey things are categorized.
I love all of the multimedia spaces! It’s cool to see kids exploring technology on their own.
I noticed that all of the staff members seemed to be wearing a uniform. I wonder if this is typical for the branches and why they chose to implement that.
Wow, what an incredible space. I love that there are separate spaces from young kids and teens and the signage is fantastic. My local library has an enormous front desk which I’d love to see removed to provide more living space for the library.
