Movie Theatre as Part of Library Service

  1. This is a really impressive way to lower barriers to accessing art! I am imaging how many more people will go to the theater and see shows they might not have seen otherwise because it is free. Users will have a wider range of films to attend because they do not have to weigh the cost of a ticket against their interest in the film. Just as library users might check out a book they are not sure they will like, there is no harm in trying it out when it is free!

  2. This is a really cool way to make the arts more accessible. I used to be an avid movie theater goer until I got priced out due to the insane ticket prices these days. I think having a theater like this as part of a library system is super unique and really impactful for their community.

  3. Watching a film together feels like a lost artform in of itself. After 2020, I’ve noticed that more people pull out their phones during films to just scroll on their phone. I agree that watching a film with other people really adds to the experience.
