I love acquiring new knowledge that the programs I create provide. Even if the program is on a serious topic, it can be a joyful experience because I have intentionally created a welcoming, safe environment for people. This intentionality is all a part of the program-planning process which can be a joyous experience in and of itself.
What module would be a good fit for this?
Hmm, I would argue that it would fit well into Module 5: Hyperlinked Communities, but looking ahead I’m wondering if it would fall into Module 14: Creativity & Curiosity! I love the quote you selected from the piece—I think it’s really beautiful to frame even difficult conversations as potentially joyful if they take place under the right conditions.

I agree with @lauraskor , I think this would be a good fit for module 5 or 14. I think it could also work well in module 3.
@celestialcelery very cool. I may add it in all of those modules. I think it’s Okkto place articles in more than one module because of my policy of read inspires you as we go along.
Adding to the consensus thus far…I think this article fits well with Module 5 which, for me, was really about getting to know your community on a deeper level, reaching out, and building meaningful relationships; this can be done with “joyous library programming” where connections can be made in an inviting, inclusive environment, patrons can be introduced to something new, and where future programming suggestions can be found among informal conversation.
@iris I really appreciate your thoughts on this article here and I agree: building meaningful relationships is so important.
