Written by Hey all – on our last day in Edinburgh, I had this cool experience. I posted about it on my Insta. I will share the actual pic we took here but I did not put it out on Insta. (will delete it in a few days). I walked away from that chat with teary eyes and so much joy.
I stopped at The Milkman around the corner from our hotel for tea while Steve was off walking, and I fell into conversation with two young men from India who have been in Scotland for just three days. What started as a random chat turned into the most wonderful ten-minute conversation about travel, kindness, how we see one another, the assumptions we make based on where someone comes from or the color of their skin, and what can happen when we simply take the time to talk to each other. I walked away honestly a little teary and with my heart very full. I won’t share their names or our photo here, but I will treasure it. What a perfect way to end this trip. This is why I travel. This is why I talk to people. And this is one of the many reasons I love Scotland so much. ❤️🏴
