“They will be able to help our community with issues like housing and shelter, food insecurity, medical needs, whatever their needs are a social worker has special skills designed to match up their needs with the resources in their community" https://t.co/4Swzx6IJ7T

And:
@michael. Thank you for sharing this! In my research for the inspiration report, I found this map of social work and library collaborations https://wholepersonlibrarianship.com/map/ and was pleasantly surprised to see a large number of libraries collaborating with social workers.
@royaflin That is so cool!
The library system I work for recently opened a new position and hired two Community Outreach Specialists, which is similar to a social worker. They help patrons in the library by connecting them to resources, as well as go out into the community and partner with other organizations. The COS at the library I work for is starting a partnership with second harvest to organize monthly food distribution to a local migrant center. She has been such an asset to our library and community!
@smartinez Apologies for the delayed reply! Thanks for sharing your experience with the COS!
