-
@michael, this link is not working for me
-
@emmizo What link?
-
@michael, sorry, the three purple dots in brackets after the word “Post” do not expand
-
@emmizo Not understanding… where exactly?
-
@michael I am sorry for the hassle. From my perspective in Site-wide Activity, the Share and Symposium post has an ellipses after you write “please share your URL here. Post [. . .]” The brackets are purple and should expand and it does not for me. The rest of the message is not there. I hope this helps.
-
The “Share & Submit Your Symposium!” link is not working either; I guess that is the same one.
-
@emmizo That is the weirdest thing. It is a bad link to a long gone web site for the class. This is the place to share your post and then submit to Canvas. I will look into that weird link deal.

From Site Formerly Known as Twitter: LIS Jobs Advice for New Grads
This week I'm asking people who hire library and LIS workers: We are nearing Spring graduation time. What advice do you have for new MLIS holders? I'm thinking both about their first post-MLIS job hunt, and in future career moves?
— Hiring Librarians (@HiringLib) May 7, 2024

@Michael, I love that you refer to it as the “Site Formerly Known as…” 😂
It’s an interesting quandary–I wonder myself about what my next move will be after I receive the degree, but also hold in reverence the knowledge that things almost always do not turn out the way I envision or plan for them to.
-
🤣
Yes – it is a journey with the potential for twists and turns.

Hi Laurel
Thank you for sharing your thought process throughout the class. I really love a lot of your takeaways.-
Thank you @kauthmeister! Good luck with your final assignment and the rest of the semester!

-
@laurele, lovely presentation! The design is polished and your sentiments and content are a wonderful wrap-up to the course. Well done. 👍 Gives me lots of inspiration for mine!
-
@lauraw Thank you! I hope your assignment/presentation goes well. I feel like I over thought things a bit, but that’s okay. 🙂

Hi @laurele I love your take-aways from the course! One of them made me chuckle, because it was advice I gave my son often during his formative year “Don’t be complacent”. In fact, it became a running joke between us, as he knew exactly when I would pull out that line. I even thought about using it in my symposium. I hear you about overthinking the assignment, I’m doing it also!

@michael Just for clarification — when you say “final reflection” do you mean our virtual symposium, the last of our reflection posts, or something else?
@michael I just want to make sure I didn’t miss an assignment. 🙂
@laurele Yes – apologies… I should refer to it as symposium! I will correct the above.
@michael Great! Thanks for the clarification. 🙂
@laurele A few semesters ago I did have a final reflection post but it felt like the Symposium served well for that too.
@michael I agree. I think the virtual symposium was a great way to wrap things up.
@michael Thanks for this reminder!
