Virtual Symposium

This class was an amazing opportunity for growth and learning unlike anything I have experienced in my other classes. Below are my thoughts on my intellectual journey, with a link at the bottom to my 3-2-1 infographic.

Awareness

The reflective blogging was my favorite element of the course. Being provided with abundant source material to examine and reflect on really enabled me to dig deep and explore my blogging voice.

Competency

With Assignment X I got to build on my competency by delving into Casey and Stavaniuk’s concepts of change management within the framework of Library 2.0.

Literacy

My assignment for the Innovation Roadmap really stretched my literacy by doing thoughtful research and investigation on the needs of Indigenous language revitalization programs and the ways that libraries are and can support them by thinking outside the box.

Mastery

My Inspiration Report incorporated many things I learned over the course, including concepts of infinite learning, participatory design, user engagement, and lifelong learning, with some key creative concepts such as human books and game designing programming. Truly my favorite assignment of the semester as it all came together.

Creativity

I felt like this class tapped into my creativity throughout the semester and always motivated me that way, but for my final creative piece, please enjoy my double-sided 3-2-1 infographic where I highlight 3 a-ha moments, 2 things I plan to explore further, and 1 thing I hope to do quite soon!

  1. Hi, Matilda! Your infographic is wonderful – so colorful and catchy! I especially love your “a-ha moments” – and calling the Human Library a “tapestry.” What an excellent metaphor. As a Sacramento native (displaced to the Bay), I’ll have to check out the Rolling Library Train next time I’m in town! It was a pleasure reading and engaging with your work this semester. All the best to you on your professional journey!

    1. Thank you so much @gilbertmaryjoy The sentiment is entirely mutual! It has been such a pleasure being in this class with you and reading your work. I hope you do get to ride the train and that this concept expands more broadly! Best of luck to you with the rest of the program and all your future endeavors 🙂

  2. Hi @matilda,

“This class was an amazing opportunity for growth and learning unlike anything I have experienced in my other classes.” I agree with what you said and feel exactly the same! The last couple of years I have been trying to work on changing my thinking and feelings and this class has been a good addition to this work.

  3. Hi @matilda

I love the creativity behind your infographic. I had no idea there was a rolling library train in Sacramento (I lived in Davis for over 20 years before returning to the bay). I’ll have to check it out! Wishing you all the best in your future personal and professional endeavors!
