Experiential Learning Supervisor
Pay Grade: 9 (Exempt)
Full-time
Schedule includes regular nights and weekends
The Experiential Learning Supervisor works in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, the Learning Experiences Manager to coordinate logistics, workflows, and service models in the three learning spaces of the library: the BOOMbox, the Lab, and the Studio. They exhibit strong independent judgment to supervise staff in providing and facilitating learning experiences for all ages. They collaborate with colleagues from different departments to support experiential learning opportunities for youth, teens, and adults. They also support special projects in learning experiences and public services more broadly.
Minimum Qualifications: (education, experience, and certifications)
- Masters of Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school or relevant experience and/or study
- 2-3 years of library-, museum-, or makerspace-related experience
- At least 3 years of direct supervisory experience

Essential Functions:
- Hires, manages, trains, and reviews performance of staff
- Manages the day-to-day responsibilities of the BOOMbox, Lab, and Studio
- Develops goals and service models for experiential learning spaces in collaboration with Learning Experiences Manager
- Observes, coordinates, and trains staff on learning facilitation techniques
- Collaborates with program coordinator to develop experiential learning programs for the public events calendar
- Provides friendly customer service in library spaces and at library events
- Applies and integrates principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in experiential learning spaces, workflows, and best practices
- Suggests improvements to equipment, processes, and procedures to manager
- Collects and analyzes data and statistics, prepares reports for management review, and makes data-driven decisions
- Provides direction/training for other library employees utilizing experiential learning spaces and equipment
- Serves as Librarian in Charge
- Assists with execution of learning experiences throughout the library
- Maintains current knowledge of library and other relevant fields
- Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
Other Functions:
- Serves on internal committees and task forces
- Participates in professional groups and attends relevant training opportunities
- Leads and/or assists with grant and sponsorship submissions
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Scheduling may require availability during any library operating hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and occasionally when the library is closed. Although a weekly schedule is established, the needs of the library may require scheduling changes and flexibility.
