It is so sad to hear that so many people suffer from isolation and loneliness. It was especially hard for people quarantining during the pandemic. When libraries started to open up again, the libraries in my county opened more social programs for patrons to participate in. They implemented a Manga and Café for Teens so they can talk to each other…[Read more]

@marleneroblesortiz This:
“By having representation or someone they can relate to on some common ground, trust can be built, needs can be met with accuracy, and community members can feel comfortable enough to engage.”
This sums it all up so well. A person visiting the library should be met with a warm welcome by a relatable staff member…ready to listen with empathy and eager to assist.

Hi MJ! I am originally from the Bay Area and moved to Sacramento after I attended school at UC Davis. There is so many things to explore in the area, and I confess, I haven’t explored even a quarter of what the Sacramento area has to offer. I do love to go to museums and learn about history so I need to get on it! Have a great semester!

Hi Laurel! Can I just say I love the fact that you started your own plus size shop and blog?! As a plus size woman myself, it’s hard to follow fashion when there is not much plus size representation (although that is slowly changing). Your sites are wonderful! Thank you for sharing, and have a great semester!

Thank you, Emily! I’m glad I didn’t listen to them because if I did, I would have never found my calling. It’s amazing to see so many others find their calling in libraries. Have a great semester!

Hello professor, it seems like Model Program (2017), Four Spaces Slidedeck in the Module 3 readings needs a request for permission to view. Is there another way we can view it?

I really liked the instructions, very clear and easy to follow. I have never used, much less heard about Feedly. I’m very intrigued by how it works. I’m excited to explore this new tool!

Hello everyone! I am currently binge watching True Blood and The Sopranos on Max. True Blood took me an episode or two to get used to from the corny set up between the main characters but once the action started, I was hooked! What’s not to love about The Soparanos? Mafia leader dealing with the pressures of being a boss while also trying to…[Read more]
