Wholehearted Research: Pragmatic, Inclusive, and Meaningful

Hello all – Getting over some jet lag here!

I wanted to share that I did a talk at Edinburgh Napier University last week. It was for the Applied Informatics group in the School of Computing, Engineering, & the Built Environment at Edinburgh Napier University’s Merchiston campus. It was a super fun presentation and discussion. I will share the abstract and slides just for interest.

Wholehearted Research: Pragmatic, Inclusive, and Meaningful – Slides are here!

This session will explore the importance of adopting a humanist approach to research, particularly for burgeoning researchers, and how this perspective can shape their research pipeline. We will explore  how a more holistic and inclusive approach to research can unlock new perspectives and themes across disciplines. Topics include the practical application of research, the ethical engagement with underrepresented and marginalized groups, and the need to present research as impactful narratives that not only inform but inspire actionable change in services and policies.
