Hi Jeanna,
A very well done and beautiful infographics, through Canva. (I think it’s so great to utilize these infographic tools) I really love how you started out with your pre knowledge before the course, during and throughout and at the end of course. Really cool to see the journey and progression, and those shifts and changes of the ideas and…[Read more] -

Hi-
This was a great read and exploring further and deeper topics within the library as classroom. I also easily thought of reading stories and books to children as an image of infinite learning. Your photos capture relevant insight into this topic as well. -

Thank you, Christine! That is great to hear that growing up you utilized libraries and got a lot out of them. Yes, I also was interested in learning more about public libraries in Europe and Germany, and encouraging to hear.

I really love your reflection on cultural competency as well as the graphics included to showcase and support your writing and points. It’s easy to be ‘stuck’ in the line of thinking as treating everyone the same or be general with more dominant groups. But instead, to realize there is a progression.

Hi Colleen!
I really enjoyed your inspiration report, and it is extremely relevant to what is going on in the world right now. I had no idea that Germany public libraries had so many programs and resources available to make them as welcoming as possible to immigrants and refugees. As someone who is the child of immigrants, and who extensively used library services as a child, it was heartwarming to read about libraries across Europe that are trying their best to welcome those who had to leave their homes behind.-

Thank you for sharing the quote! Librarians and other information professionals wear many hats, which in itself is can be considered a superpower. They are story tellers, program planners, program coordinators and program leads (and sometimes all-in-one). They are also customer service representatives, reference professionals, technology whiz, teachers, and so much more!

I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the power of stories and the evolving landscape of libraries and collections. Stories can be seen reflected in collections of all kinds, including art galleries. Art is representative of the human experience and the psyche of the artist, and contained in those representations are stories. That being said, I agree that the power of stories can be utilized by libraries and communities to create engaging experiences.

Hi Colleen!
I agree with you that libraries are for the people! That was also one of my key takeaways from this course and I think it’s something that’s so so so important to remember no matter what we do or where we go in the future.
