Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for these reflections on participatory sevices for children. I thought using a voiceover and prezi was a cool way of communicating the content you learned. I especially enjoyed the reflections on noise in library spaces. More and more I’m seeing libraries embrace programming that is LOUD and PROUD, by connecting with musicians and performance artists. I think the experience of children does benefit from play spaces where they are encouraged to use their voices. Very well researched! –Ash

@alana42 Thanks for the comment Alana! That sounds like a hilarious and wonderful program. Also, it’s so cool that your mom worked at North York; it looks like a beautiful library building!
I think it would be amazing if more public libraries could design spaces and programs that fit their community needs, no matter how niche. Besides benefitting the community members, it is also a great way to prompt patrons to become library advocates.

Ask A Question! 2 weeks, 4 days ago
I am trying to understand Feedly- when you responded to my blog, it didn’t pop up. Is it supposed to? I found your response because of email told me I had a comment, but wondering if I am also missing people commenting on others blogs. It said I had no new activity today minus one profile picture change in our entire class?
-
I checked and my Feedly doesn’t show comments on my own blog. For that I had to use the notifications either by email or on the top right of the screen on the course website if logged in, just to the left of my name and profile picture. I’m using Feedly to see updates on our course website and new posts by people in the community, but doesn’t see…[Read more]

@crain @alana42 these are great questions. And they are advanced questions. Everyone’s blog feed also has a separate feed for comments. If you take your blog URL and paste it into Feedly to add you should get an option to add the comments. The other thing is, you can follow the activity feed, which should include all blog count commenting unless s…[Read more]

I s this the activity feed? If so, it is not popping up. Not a big deal, just want to learn more about feedly/RSS feeds.: #hyperlib Site-Wide Activity

@crain there may be something up with that feed. Our IT folks are working super hard on updating all of our WordPress sites, including making the themes more secure, etc. so some things may have broken a little bit I can investigate.

Ignorant question- can I someone put this on my phone for free to listen to at work? I have never used Spotify.
@crain It should play right from this page on your phone. Or try this:
@michael thank you for sharing this very very interesting listen. “There isn’t an attack on books. There is an attack on people.” This statement. WOW. WOW. WOW.
@cayla WOW is right! That bit really moved me.
