Greetings everyone. I had a really enjoyable full day with the staff of Wilmette public library in Illinois this past spring. I did their morning presentation and then stayed around to interact with the staff and do a debrief of the morning presentation as a breakout in the afternoon. I want to share some photos and the slides. Oh, and the theme of the day was “Serving with Heart.”
The poster sheet is from an exercise I lead them through to build a library staff member from the “formula for success.”

@michael I love that the day started with breakfast. Definite mood booster!
@lisahach YES! And super good morning beverages like coffee and tea, etc. as well always sets folks up for a good day.
@michael What a fun looking staff day. My library system had our staff day in October and had a very interesting class on de-escalation from a security officer from the Seattle Public Library, who offered a lot of useful information and stories.
@krheid that sounds like a very good program and I really appreciate the fact that the person came from Seattle public. I’m glad it was useful for you.
I love seeing a Gumby reference any day! This looks like such a great program to gain a lot of inspiration from. I can imagine the staff having a good time reflecting and connecting during these exercises.
