This worked for me, I use an Acrobat Reader
I was able to view it on my browser (Chrome) but when I opened it on Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader, I got this error message, “there was a problem reading this document (14)”. No error messages on Preview either.
Same – this was my experience again as well: that same ’14’ message, yet only in Acrobat. It works fine for me in PDF X again.
Same as @daisychia and @sjsudon. I get the ’14’ message only in Acrobat.

Michael Casey helped me out with some cool PDF software and sent me a new version of the PDF. If anyone has a sec let me know if it opens in Adobe Acrobat.

@michael it works on Acrobat up to page 9, then I get this error message: There was an error processing a page. Bad font object or font descriptor object. The rest of the book, after the table of contents, does not load.
Ok spoke too soon. I came back to the document and the rest of it loaded. It works!
It also works for me now in Acrobat!! 🙂 Thanks!!
@michael I am able to open the file on Acrobat, but I get the same error message that @daisychia got. When I click on “OK”, the error message goes away and I’m able to read the pages, but then the message pops back up again after I scroll down or up a few pages. Sorry about this pesky error!
@natalie thanks! Sorry about this. I am thinking I’m going to reach out to ALA and see if they can get me a new PDF.
