@michael Thank you! I do think these digital spaces are a great way to maintain connections locally as more people go online instead of out doors. It’d be an effective method to help different government programs promote themselves as well!

Hello Mary, I hope you are doing well today!
I think you offered a lot of great points and examples in your essay. One of the main reasons I am actually nervous to work in a library myself is because I feel I don’t read a wide enough range of material to make good recommendations. That’s what a diverse staff is for though, through the power of…[Read more] -

@oliviaevans this is probably one of the most serious and important topics currently in information environments. I agree with the ideas you shared and the articles you used to support them. I hope keeping our digital lives and artifacts safe becomes easier and easier.
-
@michael I’m happy you support my article too! I’ve been an internet user since I was really little and one thing I learned which I think newer generations forgot is how important it is to remain safe. Being anonymous isn’t always required, but I feel like the library could be a great place to educate people about internet safety since some people seem to overshare personal details!

@oliviaevans I am very old in Internet years…started doing net training in 1995! I get that! 👍

You are right. It is certainly a good thing that libraries are evolving, because we don’t want them to become dusty, empty storage rooms. It makes me happy knowing as they modernize more people have been able to see it like a social place. 🙂

Hi Donna!
I think you explained Hyperlinked libraries quick and really clearly here. I just wrote my own Reflection blog on the topic, but I feel I wasn’t as concise as you were, lol. I did enjoy your article though, it’s interesting libraries have developed. I remember when I was young there was a reading program and board games at my local…[Read more] -

@oliviaevans this is an intriguing idea. I think we saw a bit of this in the libraries that activated social type features in the catalog years ago, as well as Ann Arbor district library which for years ran most of their website in blog format with lots of space for commenting. I appreciate what you imagine here and it would be very interesting to see how we might create virtual meetings spaces for various groups and folks.

@emmizo Thank you very much for saying my blog has resonated with you! Your blog post resonated with me as far as comfort in library spaces. It wasn’t until reading your post that I realized that libraries have always been a place of comfort for me as well. I did not usually go to the library for books. We went as a small child to get out of our crowded tiny house and I remember loving to relax on the big chairs and look at the art on the walls. I remember as a college student going to the library for a break, a snooze before I had to go to work after class or browsing through old fashion magazines in the stacks. Now, I I must also recognize that this feeling of safety and comfort may be a privilege I took for granted as a white woman. Perhaps if I had a different background I may not feel as welcome or comfortable. I would appreciate other readers’ thoughts on this idea of privilege.

Haha, yeah! Furina is an awesome character, I’ve loved the new patches lately. As for Paimon, she is totally some kind of celestial, but also the best emergency food.

Aw, thank you Donna!
I also like Genshin a lot, Razor was my original main character, but as time has gone on Itto has become one of my favorites. I really like the story and fan theories!

Hi Donna!
I had to take hyper focused English class so I didn’t see something like this class offered before, nor did I think of taking something like it. I think it gives you an advantage to have an interest in this topic already, which is a great thing. The story certainly seems strange, but the format for its story is interesting which…[Read more]
