Like several people here I’ve been watching The Bear and Julia. If I’m having a rough day I’ll watch Ted Lasso or The West Wing as a pick me up. I’ve recently started watching Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations with my 16 year old son which has been really fun. Bad Sisters was also amazing and I really hope they do another season.

Forgive me if this posted twice — I thought I posted this 3 days ago, but I don’t see it in my feed! I most recently finished binging Bad Sisters on Apple TV+. My 20 year old daughter recommended it so I had to give it a try. I’m so sad that it’s only one season so far. I’ll have to wait a while for Season 2. I also binge-read all of the Louise…[Read more]

Bad Sisters is so great! I watched the entire series twice, once on my own and again with my husband. I caught a few things I’d missed in the first go round. I hope they do another season!
-
They did renew it for another season! And the credits are worth watching multiple times too — so much detail captured in them.

Great news!!

I’ve been rereading The Apothecary Diaries with the release of the anime. It’s been years since I last read the novels, so it has been fun to go back and see how the volumes are divided up.

I’ve been binge-reading the Spy X Family books recently. I’ve never read manga before these but I really enjoy them. As for shows, I have recently started binge-watching Young Sheldon and Community.

A few months back (maybe 6-8?), I started Law & Order: SVU from season 1, episode 1, and have been working my way through the whole series. My mom and I love watching together, but since she’s in the LA area and I’m in Oakland, we don’t get to do it super often. But it’s been fun for us both to watch at our own pace and text each other during the…[Read more]

@vjavaheri I have watched SVU since the first season and it is now the only “regular” network show I watch. The show has changed over the years but I enjoy the storytelling and the “ripped from the headlines” stuff. Mariska Hargitay attended the Traverse City Film Festival a few years ago and it was AMAZING to see her in person.

My most recent favorite binges have been Reservation Dogs and The Bear. But I also rewatched all of Schitt’s Creek and The Last of Us again and both are still so good. I recommend all of these.
Has anyone watched Julia on HBO, the dramatization about Julia Child? First season was good but I finally watched all of second season in December and…[Read more]

@matilda I am all about The bear. Probably one of the best in recent memory. I need to try Julia. May I suggest a similar one: Lessons in Chemistry. Took my breath away a few times.
-
I love The Bear so much and especially Ayo Edebiri. I watched all of Lessons in Chemistry in two days! That was what inspired me to go back to second season of Julia. The first season was good but I was in no hurry to watch the second season but I’m so glad I did. They really kicked it up a notch in the second season. Especially the latter half.
-
@matilda I think I need to try Julia. There is something very soothing about cooking type shows to me right now. I thin k it’s the times!

Since @savannahpolizzi has already mentioned the Fourth Wing series, I will mention something else for this exercise 🙂 Me and my friend recently binge-watched season 1 of Ted Lasso (TV show), which was actually very enjoyable! (We initially thought we’d watch one episode to test the waters, but then we ended up finishing the entirety of season 1…[Read more]

Hi Donna! I’m delighted to see some love for Ted Lasso. I’ve been rewatching it again with some friends and it is just as fantastic as my first watch through. The character development is top notch throughout all three seasons and I find more details to chew on each time I watch. I read recently that the show/characters are loosely inspired by the…[Read more]

Hi Sabrina 🙂 I didn’t know that tidbit! I will keep it in mind as I go into season 2. The character development, like you said, is definitely top notch. They’re well written 🙂 I find myself changing my opinions and coming to different understanding for the characters with each new episode, can’t wait to see where I’ll stand come end of season 3!
