Nice to meet you, Louis! Last semester, I took a class and one of my assignments was the evaluation of incorporating the Orbit Reader for patrons of the Braille Institute Library. Here’s to a good semester!

Nice to meet you! That sounds like an interesting project! It’s a really great library and I’m glad to hear it’s being discussed in some of these courses.

Greetings @Louis! I am happy to read about your experience and interest in film. I did a minor in film studies during my undergrad. I recall focusing on film noir, horror films and semiotics, and exp[erimental film making.
Welcome to #hyperlib!

Oh nice! That sounds like really interesting blend. I mainly focused on European art-house and experimental film while in school, but my tastes have expanded to include noir (thanks TCM!) and a much greater appreciation for horror. The latter took me a while to come around on because when I was younger, the tension during the build up to the inevitable jump-scares worked too well for me. It was more stress than the movies were worth. While I’m still not a fan of all that, I’ve come to really enjoy the wide range of horror films that are mostly moody and weird and full of incredible images.

Hi Louis,
Thanks for the link to the Wiseman Retrospective! I live in Hollywood too (just moved to Little Armenia).
The Braille Institute Library sounds very interesting. I’ve never been there but would love to visit and learn more.
Cheers!
Arthur
