At dinner, instead of &#8220;How was your day?&#8221;, we ask, &#8220;What did you learn today?&#8221; Then at bedtime, we ask, &#8220;What was your favorite part of your day?&#8221; Sometimes that had to morph into &#8220;What was one thing that didn&#8217;t suck today?&#8221; depending on the day. Like you said, start small. LOL</p>

My library belongs to a fairly small consortium of libraries, and we have a lot of patrons come to our library because it is one of the biggest. I think doing this would be a great way to get our patrons to go to other libraries as well.</p>

I&#8217;m not scared of Chicago traffic because my oldest lives in the Lakeview East neighborhood and we have to drive on Lake Shore Drive to get there. But that&#8217;s in my own car.  I did learn quickly why Chicago Public Libraries do not have large bookmobiles. Thanks for your comments. Your mention of book lockers made me realize I forgot to add that to the list of things we do! We have two book drop boxes in the community that we are responsible for checking every day.  We get anywhere from 0 to 150 books a day from those bins! Our bookmobile works well in our village because we have wide streets and open spaces. My kids are 21 and 18, so it&#8217;s been a while, but I do remember struggling with that as well. Our library has a great Children&#8217;s Department with a lot of great programs for kids of all ages, and play areas sprinkled throughout the department.<br />

We have a year-long reading program for grades 1-5 called Reading Dragons. When they get to a certain point in the program, they get a token to use in the vending machine for a free book. It&#8217;s super cool.</p>

I LOVE mandalas, but again, too stressful to try to color. I recently found monochromatic coloring books, and I love them.
