This was such a creative approach to your virtual hyperlinked symposium, I loved the newspaper layout/format. Thank you for sharing your personal thoughts and feelings regarding your doubts of working in the library profession/space, and the reason you had those doubts-which are completely valid. Also from personal experiences of my own (working in public service for the county of Los Angeles), I know working in the public arena poses some risks and challenges; however, as you did, I am always reminded in some way of why I did/do the work I do, which is ultimately helping those who truly appreciate and benefit the services being provided. So, thank you again for that reminder! Also kudos and a round of applause to you for introducing innovative ideas to your work place, and CONGRATS even more so to getting them implemented (and one in the process of being implemented), that is awesome! Good luck, I know you will be successful in your efforts and as you continue applying the great information we learned from the hyperlinked library!

@rachelll, I love your newspaper! Such an adorable and effective way of sharing your story. I’m so sorry about your experience of sexual harassment in the library–as you said, you are a member of the library community, too, and such a breach of trust must have been so difficult. I am so happy to hear that this class has helped renew some of your optimism about the work that can be done in our communities. Good luck with your photography program, I’m sure the students will love it!
