One thought on “Innovative Roadmap: Library Vending Machines”

  1. Hi Val,
This is such a great proposal that feels incredibly user centered and #hyperlib. To me, this is very clear solution to the problem of equity and accessibility to library resources and collections. I liked your examples of these machines working in different libraries, and I’ll share that I’ve seen on social media a middle school library doing the same thing! I like to see that it’s already a successful model elsewhere.
I like the idea to be able to apply for a library card at the vending machine kiosks.
Also, Multnomah County Library is my childhood/home library system! I love them as a patron and as an MLIS student I appreciate the work they are doing in their community. I feel that a library book vending machine would fit in so well with the mission of MCL and that it would be something that the community would find very valuable.
Great job with this presentation, I am convinced!
