For my virtual symposium, I’ve decided to focus on the themes of the reflection blogs, and to a certain extent, our modules. This was a great course, and it challenged me to be resourceful and creative in my work and writing. I hope you can identify with some of these concepts, as they resonated with me the most. For me, this is the hyperlinked library.
Hi @yoli ! I don’t think I’ve seen your blog before, and that’s sad because I absolutely love how bright and colorful it is! I love that you carried that over into your symposium post too! It definitely stood out, and I just had to click on it. I thought it was really cool how you approached this assignment by doing a summary/key takeaway of the main ideas we learned and discussed through reflection blogging. We covered a lot of topics, and I think the reflection blogging really helped me better understand what we were learning. I found that they also gave me the chance to think more critically about what practices I wanted to focus on and emulate in my future work. I really enjoyed hyperlinked communities and hyperlinked environments myself. Do you have a favorite blogging topic?
Hi Naikia, thank you for the compliments! I never really considered the color schemes I’ve chosen for my blog and some of my projects, but you’re absolutely right, the colors do pop! Even though the semester was condensed and went by really, really quickly, I found that the modules were approachable and it was easy to pick and choose an area or two that resonated. I agree with you that the blogging gave us a chance to hone in on specific library practices that speak to us. For me, I really enjoyed the power of stories and infinite learning; these were topics I thought I knew about before heading into the module, and then the blogging really turned it around for me once I organized my thoughts and started writing.
