Hello everyone!
Welcome to the Library Locket, my blog for INFO 287: The Hyperlinked Library. I am Damien, an aspiring arts librarian still early into the MLIS program. I am interested in animation, comics, zines, and other forms of artmaking. I enjoy alternative music (i.e. post punk, gothic, visual kei, etc.) and horror movies mostly. My most recent watches were Obsession and Leviticus, both refreshing experiences during a time of sequels and re-adaptations.
I chose this course because I really enjoyed learning about information communities through Dr. Stephen’s video lectures in INFO 200. They demonstrated how exciting (and potentially dangerous) information can be in this digital era, and how we engage with information depending on the subject (i.e. politics, personal interests, daily activities, etc.). I want to learn more about emerging technologies as they continue to evolve and shape how information circulates. I am also interested in applying this course content in art information contexts, looking at the future of GLAM services for artists and not just art historians.

Hi Damien! I really loved exploring your blog! Your Spotify embed is especially neat and totally adds to the atmosphere of your digital corner. I’m excited to see more of your posts as the semester continues. I’m sure what we learn here will impact how we share, create, and receive information — the evolution is so exciting!
@damien I thought Obsession was fresh and different and incredibly well made. I am very eager to see Leviticus. It also feels like there’s a lot of trailers coming out for spooky stuff over the next few months, including a very disturbing trailer for a movie called Breeder.
