Hi Laura, this is a fantastic reflection! I found your first two “aha!” moments were also “aha!” moments for me. Going into this course, I expected to learn about a ton of emerging technologies and how we can bring them into the library. In the end, I’m leaving with an understanding that as always, the core of library and information work is people. We cannot forge into the hyperlinked future without considering people first.
Yes, @isthebel! My explanation about what the course was changed from when my colleagues asked me about it at the beginning of the course to last week. Last week, I started my explanation with “well, hyperlinks are people, too!” 😆
Great infographic! My favorite part is the section about what actions you plan to take next. So many lessons are ended with doom and gloom about issues, or star-eyed optimism towards the future, neither with any concrete steps to take today. I also like the idea of the goals being smaller and more obtainable. We can’t save the world but we can put another drop in the right bucket.
