Welcome to my blog!
Hi everyone!
My name is Connor Dandridge, and I am so glad to meet you!
First of all, I am very excited to take this course, I have wanted to take it since my first semester at the iSchool, and now that it is available in the summer, I was able to do it! I look forward to thinking about what the future holds for us as we enter the library career field, and how it is already changing with AI adoption and other technological advances.
I currently am the Service Desk Manager for a small health sciences library in Las Vegas, Nevada, where I oversee the circulation desk and library space. I plan on graduating in the Fall, so everything is happening fast!
In my free time, I like going to the movie theater, hiking/rockhounding, and playing video games. I also have a lovely cat named Byrne (guess who he is named after, and you get +10 cool points!)
I look forward to seeing everyone’s ideas throughout this short semester!
Ok, I’m going to guess you named your cat after celebrated comic book penciller and curmudgeonly old Canadian, John Byrne.
What a great guess, but sadly no! (His Superman run is great)
It’s just as well. John Byrne is a bit of a crank and your cat seems lovely.
Hi Connor. I also enjoy a bit of rockhouding from time-to-time. I grew up with a dad who was super into fossil hunting and now I live in the desert of western Colorado, which is perfect for finding cool rocks and fossils. Any favorite finds so far?
I’m really hoping your cat is named after David Byrne from the Talking Heads. The wild look in his eyes definitely gives me David Byrne vibes.
This past weekend I got permission to go into an open mining claim to look for amethyst crystals, which was neat!
And yes! He is named after David Byrne, he definitely has that eccentricity in him.
Wow, that sounds like an incredible opportunity. Huzzah! Love me some David Byrne. My husband and I had “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)” as our wedding song.
I was going to incorrectly guess Byrne from Zelda
@condandridge Byrne is so handsome! The recent video of DB ‘s concerts is incredible.
I am glad to be teaching this summer and glad you got in!
Welcome to #hyperlib!
