Hello everyone!
My name is Wendy, and I am from Long Beach, CA.
I had volunteered in libraries since I was a child, and my experience as a library student aide in high school made me realize I wanted to pursue a librarianship career. When I started the MLIS program in 2021, I was more interested in working in a public library or museum. Now that I am employed in a school library as a Library/Media Assistant, I am considering pursuing the credentials necessary to become a teacher librarian.
I heard many great reviews about Professor Stephens and INFO 287: The Hyperlinked Library and made a mental note to learn more about it a few semesters ago. Last spring, I read more about the course. I thought the topic of library services, technologies, and communities seemed interesting and beneficial, considering how much the Web and other digital tools have become an integral part of our society. Thus, I am eager to expand my knowledge about present and future tech innovations and how to approach them and incorporate them into my work to better serve my patrons.
I am looking forward to this semester with you all!
Best,
Wendy R.
@wendyr24 Thanks for your kind words about the class. Yay for teacher librarians! Feel free to focus your assignments on K-12 libraries if you would like.
Welcome to #hyperlib!
