Welcome to the Grounding Library! This will be a space for collecting and presenting valuable resources throughout #HYPERLIB and the Fall ’25 semester.
A little about me…
I was born and raised in Southern California, but I’ve also lived in AZ, ID, NE, OK, and now I live temporarily in Germany! I’m a first-gen student who graduated from Antelope Valley Community College with my AA in Social & Behavioral Science. I later earned my BS in Psychology from the University of Idaho in 2016. Like many millennials who entered the workforce during the 2008 recession, I’ve spent my career gaining experience by changing communities frequently and working in different sectors, which has culminated in a broad range of experience.
Lifeguard, CPR Instructor, customer service, food service, developmental therapist, teaching assistant, private paraprofessional, horticulturalist, horticultural educator, horticultural advisor, and volunteer.
As a lifelong learner, I look forward to the journey of this MLIS program, where I can strengthen the foundation of my teaching principles and cultivate a community where people are empowered to connect and learn. I see myself working in outreach and special librarianship. I am particularly interested in plant information and consumer health information.
Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I can’t wait to hear from you 🙂
PS- Sunny (my corgi) and my spouse and I got to explore a bucket-list site at this stunning gorge near Garmisch in Bavaria, Germany.
With gratitude,
Chelsea Jones
