@zoeparker I love the fact that public libraries are posting all kinds of content online either via TikTok or Instagram. The reels are short so that they engage a larger audience, and for the most part, you don’t need an account to see some of them. I do agree that TikTok can expand a library’s reach to former users, current users, and future users as so many have taken to TikTok for a variety of information including book recommendations. I think you really have something here. Depending upon the size of your library staff, this could be a challenge or and inspiration. In my library, it would probably just me me as we have a very small staff and my time is super limited, but I still want to be one of those libraries (albeit academic and not public) that embraces the technology to expand our reach and access.
