I’m Mimi, and I currently work in 2 very similarly named library systems: Santa Clara City and Santa Clara County. In my free time, I like to read (I am in A Lot of book clubs), watch movies, and game. I am also an editor for a community zine that interviews people to showcase and archive local histories and art. I became interested in library work since I love to work with people and because my undergraduate degree heavily focused on information science. I wanted to take this course to explore how libraries, our patrons, and technology interact – and blogging just happens to be one of the perks!
Since a picture/link is worth a thousand words, here are some that showcase who I am:

A link to the last Instagram reel I made for my library: working as a part of the social media team has made me realize how libraries can engage with the community by following online trends!

Hi Mimi,
How cool I’m in the south bay too. I didn’t know there were too different library systems for Santa Clara. What was your undergrad degree in? Also how do you find cool book clubs? I’m in one that my friend made but I want to meet new bookish people~ Also I love that the library you work at had a Comic Con event!
Yeah I only realized there were 2 different Santa Clara library systems when I started working in one of them and had to explain the distinction to patrons! I majored in Cognitive Science and minored in Public Health for undergrad, which strangely translated well to library work – what about you?
As for book clubs, I run a romance unbook club and general book club at my library! I also like to ask people I know if they want to join me in reading a book together once in a while, so I have a lot of informal 2-3 person book clubs running at once! I know a lot of local bookstores also run book clubs and Reddit actually has some pretty amazing ones (this is what I mean by me being in A Lot of book clubs Oops!).
@doremimi Yay for that reel. I think I saw it on Insta around the holidays! Love the con pic too!
Welcome to #hyperlib!
Hi Mimi! I was just dropping by to say that I love the name of your blog! And while I was here, I realized that we’re in Info 204 together–and on the same team. What a small world! Looking forward to our semester together.
So sorry for the late reply! YES what a small world – it’s been amazing having you as a part of my INFO 204 group :’)
