  • I really enjoyed this quick but thoughtful recap of major themes in this class. I enjoyed the color-banding to show connections between themes and substantiating quotes or statements. Really nicely done!

  • Hi Joyce!
Excellent visualization of these notions! I particularly enjoyed your emphasis that it’s OK to question or challenge ‘traditional norms.’ Of course, while sometimes this can go overboard or be unnecessary in certain cases, always being open to this as an organization is crucial for self-improvement and embracing changes as they come to any situation. One of the most counterproductive statements/mindsets that can ever be uttered, unto itself, is the classic, ‘Well, that’s just the way it’s always been done.’ Things simply need to have a better justification than that, alone, if they are to remain unchanged! Also, I loved the quote, ‘Libraries are built for people – not books.’ Explaining this to powerbrokers, and then being able to act upon it to really make our spaces dynamic, useful, and valued in this day & age is critical.
