I had an amazing time in this course and appreciated any conversations that I was able to have with classmates. I cannot wait to use what I have learned in my (hopefully) future career as a public librarian. Below is my final reflection. I hope that you enjoy!

Hi @eestradalopez, learning about how libraries can serve their community outside the physical library was an aha! moment for me too. It makes so much sense that the library should commit to bringing services out where people are to remove barriers to access and reflect the actual needs of the community.
Absolutely! I love that more and more libraries are making an effort to do this now. 🙂
Hello Esperanza,
I have been aware of the Human Library programs for this past year and purposely avoided focusing any of our assignments on the topic. A previous course I used the program idea to create a Human Library of experts, professionals etc. for an academic library. Often students only have the opportunity to network at symposiums, professional meetings or through invitation. That being said I loved the book club spin and can see how it can be applied in other contexts that allow for individuals in small groups can interact with a given Human Book. Infinitely less intense than a talk or presentation. Thank you for the idea!
Melinda
Thanks, Melinda! I would definitely feel less intimidated in a group setting.
