Dawn of the First Day

Published by Nicholas Stewart on

Hello Everyone,

My name is Nicholas and I am looking forward to learning about all the different ways libraries today can utilize emerging technologies to maintain connections with their respective communities. That is what got me interested in this class, as I believe it is important for libraries to embrace the potential technology has to foster these types of connections and promote themselves as being something more than just warehouses of books and magazines, something which can truly help meet the unique needs of their community members.

In my free time, I like playing video games like Skyrim, Dark Souls, Pokémon, and Tears of the Kingdom (I’m a big Zelda fan in general, as some of you may be able to guess from the name of my blog and this post’s title). I also enjoy watching speedruns of games on YouTube, as I find it interesting how players can learn to use bugs and glitches in games to beat them as fast as they can. Pictured below are my cats Skadi (ska-dee), Freyja (fray-ya), and Idun (ee-doon), as well as my dogs Orfhlaith (orr-la) and Aoife (ee-fa). It’s nice to meet all of you; here’s to a great semester together!

Hi Nicholas! It looks like we’re in two of the same classes together, this one and INFO 284! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your blog posts as the course goes on.
