Public libraries supporting food justice is a wonderful idea. I liked that you mentioned inviting local chapters of Food Not Bombs to distribute meals at libraries. Inviting small groups helps build community partnerships. I remember there was a Food Not Bombs chapter located in Texas that was constantly cited by the police for distributing meals about a year or so ago. It would be nice if libraries could provide a space for distribution to avoid citations. Radical trust is critical in general, but especially for a service addressing basic needs. Planning training staff to embrace this principle is great.
