Hello @starrose. Thanks for the brief overview of some of your posts! I went back and looked through them, and you did a great job summarizing the content. I really like your 5th point: “a supportive environment that addresses the emotional labor which goes into
librarianship benefits both librarians and patrons alike.” This does not get stressed enough! It’s like the imagery of how a pitcher can’t fill any glasses if it also is empty. We have to take the time to fill ourselves up with self-care.

I love your pitcher analogy! I think it’s important on the part of the public and the organization’s administration to empathize with how difficult public-facing work can be. Creating an environment that recognizes the humanity in all of us is something we should all strive for. Thanks for your comment!
