Hi everyone!
For this assignment, I was inspired by public library summer reading programs — particularly SFPL’s Summer Stride program and the concept of SSR (silent sustained reading) time during my younger school years. Because of my positive experiences with both, especially Summer Stride which I still participate in, I decided to think of a way to sort of combine the two in a K-12 school library setting. Because I’m not that creative, I decided to call this endeavor the Reading Race challenge.

Hello Ramasha,
I love the idea of creating a mashup of SFPL’s Summer Stride program and silent sustained reading for a school setting. I think engaging kids of all ages with reading and having incentives to make it a lifelong love is essential.
I like that you utilize Beanstack, as it is a digital method that is more intuitive for children who are digital natives. I also like that it takes a different approach to reading by being interactive instead of just quizzing kids. The quotes you chose as evidence about the importance of reading are spot on, and the graphics you chose are adorable.
Thank you for sharing this excellent presentation.
