Innovation Roadmap: Telling My Story

Hello all!

Something that stuck out to me from our readings was the importance of staff buy-in, and I found myself thinking of how the teen librarians at my workplace might be able to develop a better relationship with the technology that the library has purchased for us to use. So, I came up with a sort of program idea. Looking forward to feedback!

@kameronray This is such a nice presentation, full of lots of great ideas! I appreciate your focus on teens in the library, as it can sometimes be difficult to figure out exactly what we can do to make their library experience better and interesting to them. Including those that fall within that age group in the planning would definitely help in creating the best experience possible. I also appreciate the drop-in aspect, as it allows creativity to flow naturally at a time that works best for the participants.

Thank you for the feedback! I’ve definitely noticed that when things are too structured or require teens to come at set times, they’re way less likely to participate. I think ‘drop-in’ projects are vital to improving teen services and teen engagement with the library, but of course, you have to have enough staff to accommodate that approach.
