    Hi, Camillia,

Your report is well organized and its delivery is clear. Ask a Librarian Chat would be a great addition to your library and you did a great job of explaining the history, context, and reasons why your library should adopt the chat. Well done!

      Hi Jenn,

Thank you so much for the comment! I personally think that live chats between librarians and patrons should exsist in all libraries. This type of service makes the library look better in the eyes of their users because users will see that the library is trying to reach out to them. Patrons definately notice when libraries are functioning to serve them. It is understandable that some libraries may not be able to incorporate the service because of funding but if the funding is suffiecient enough, I do not see why they should not incorporate a chat system!

Hi! I love how your Ask a Librarian Chat focuses on supporting patrons with disabilties or difficulties getting to an actual librarian. In my experience in working with people with disabilities, I have seen first hand how they are seen as an afterthought or as a problem to be solved. It’s great that you saw this as an opportunity to fill a gap.

      Hi Bernadette,

The inspiration for this presentation stemmed from the phone calls I would recieve from older patrons when I was working for this library system, who needed help either navigating the internet or the library website itself. They could not come in-person for help because they had no method of transportation and I would spend a lot of time helping them out.
