Drawing from the literature on participatory storytelling and its role in public libraries as well as from interactive storytelling installations at art and literature museums, this three-part, multi-modal program offers patrons several ways to share their stories with their community. First, a highly visible story wall allows patrons to easily add a story at their leisure and gets them accustomed to the idea of sharing publicly. Next, a more in-depth storytelling workshop and live performance will bring interested parties together and build networks in the community, contributing to a stronger social infrastructure and sense of camaraderie.
