Hello 287!
I’m Shoshanna. I am a dancer, dance teacher, youth services outreach coordinator at my county public library system, mother of two teens (one a senior in high school soon to have her own college adventures), wife to a rockclimbing goat dairy tech, event planner for whimsical events for little people, gardener, and storytime enthusiast.
My area of interest is definitely public libraries. I love the concept of the Third Space and am excited to see it in action and encourage it daily. I love exploring technology and am enthusiastic about taking this Hyperlinked Library class alongside INFO 281: Indigenous Cultural Institutions and Practices of Librarianship. I think the mix of readings and thinkings will keep my brain full this semester!
I was drawn to this class from hearing great things, wanting to be more fluid with WordPress and tech tools I can bring to my work in Library Land, and I really enjoyed Professor Stephen’s lectures in INFO 200 and others I found online.
My animal friends are a dog named Jasper and three cats: Cora, Charlie, and Everest. I love my garden, living amongst the redwoods and rocky beaches of California’s North Coast and am trying to get outside to enjoy those things more. I love travel and someday hope to do a lot more of it. in 2019 my biggest journey was to Egypt and it was incredible.
Fun fact… I love Raqs Sharqi (Belly Dance) and have been studying and performing it since about 1992. Here’s a favorite video of me dancing with favorite musicians to a favorite song… enjoy!
