My name is Hope and this is the second semester of my first year in the MLIS Program.
I am currently a solo Library Associate at Yolo County Libraries in the Knights Landing area, which is an extremely rural community. I primarily work with undocumented Spanish-speaking families who are migrant farmerworkers in the area. I typically provide services such as English Conversation Groups for adults who are eager to practice their English skills and bilingual story times for children and families.
I have enjoyed working two years in public libraries at Yolo County Libraries, but also have experience with academic libraries. Prior to my current job, I worked four years at the UC Davis Library as a Library Assistant.
In my spare time I like to bake, knit, take trips to Disneyland, and watch Korean dramas!
My goal is to apply what I learn in this class and throughout this program to my profession and grow as an individual and a librarian who is comfortable with today’s technology.
