Hi everyone, I’m Karla (she\/her), and I\u2019m from central CA. I just started my MLIS journey in the spring. During my undergrad, I worked as a student assistant at the Reference desk at the campus Library and loved it. After many years of contemplating starting this journey, I finally decided to apply, and here I am. I\u2019ve found that the Public Librarianship pathway combines a few of the things I enjoy: reading books, technology, the arts, and giving back to our community, just to name a few.<\/p>\n
For the last 15 years, I\u2019ve worked in tech, and I currently work in the IT department for the local hospitals in my city. Very different from a library setting, but still giving back to our community in a very different way.<\/p>\n
In my free time, I like to play video games, read, and build LEGO sets.<\/p>\n
