Hi Wendy!
I will admit that I don’t know too much about school libraries and how they work, but I think a huge part on how school libraries thrive is how much is being invested in them. The numbers you stated are quite daunting and disappointing, especially if you consider how schools should also help encourage learning and reading. I think…[Read more]

Hi Michelle!
Thank you for mentioning staff contributions! As much as the library is diverse with its community, a huge part of the experience that people have are because of the staff that are there. It is so important the staff feel just as valued as the community. I think sometimes that is where there can be some issues with the library,…[Read more]

Hi Lilia,
TikTok is really blowing up. I have heard that kids are starting to use TikTok as search engines. But I do agree, libraries that use social media, and in my opinion, use social media correctly can really leverage their platform to create better engagement and interaction with their community. As great as physical books are, people…[Read more]

Hi Alice!
I also took this course because I am interested to see all the new approaches the library will take for innovation and growth. Libraries are so complex and the new perspectives can do much to influence the direction they go in. It’ll be exciting to explore that this semester! Looking forward to learning alongside you!

Hi!
I love how you mentioned seeing libraries for what they are and advocating for them. I also believe it is through advocating that libraries can be well-funded libraries and employ diverse staff who live in and understand their communities. It is that kind of thinking and call to action that will help ensure libraries remain resilient and…[Read more]

Hi Kyle!
Thanks for sharing your experience at the California Academy of Sciences! I love how you mentioned the importance of engaging with locals to uncover hidden gems. I think it is one of the best ways to truly explore and connect with a place. As well, the connection betwen the museum;s design and nature shows just how space can change…[Read more]

Hi everyone, I have recently started binging A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and I am so excited! I read all the books and loved them. Another series I have binged is the 2nd season of House of the Dragon!

Hi Jemielyn, I just finished the 2nd season of House of the Dragon as well (team Black fan)! I haven’t checked out A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder yet so will have to get on that soon since I’m actively looking for a new, fun thing to binge.

What did y’all think of the finale? I saw a lot of negative reactions to it online, but I enjoyed it!
