Hey Everyone! I am just curious, what books did you all chose for the context book assignment? I chose Made To Stick by Chip and Dan Heath.

    • Content by Cory Doctorow. I read his Information Doesn’t Want to be Free a couple of years ago, love his observations/thinking about creativity and the free market. This collection was thought-provoking, compelling, and entertaining.

    • I chose Palaces for the People by Eric Klinenberg. It’s been on my to-read list for a while, so I took this opportunity to get it off that list.

      • I also chose that one! I had read half of it earlier this year and wasn’t able to get around to finishing it, so now I’m going to get to. So far it has a lot of good insights into the value of public spaces.

    • I chose The Master Switch: The Rise and Fall of Information Empires by Tim Wu. He chronicles the history of mass media conglomerates that start with the telephone and continues to radio, film, television, and the Internet. I’m on the chapter that is discussing the early days of the Internet with AOL and it is definitely bringing me back to my middle school days and using the dial up service to get onto those chat rooms haha!

    • I chose “Contagious: How Things Catch” On by Jonah Berger, which is about why things “go viral.” It’s been on my reading list since INFO 200, haha. It was a very good read, I highly recommend it!
